The Shortest Getaway

 

 First, 3 things...we're sisters, this is our first blog, and its always five o'clock somewhere. 

It was on one of those...

 

 days that you just need to get away. Sometimes your soul just needs to pick up your road dog, grab some beverages and take a drive - even if it is just to chase the sunset.

    And right in the middle of chasing the sun... our car started to putter and all the plans for our brief ride to freedom started change, all in the midst of a breath.  A breath we couldn't catch for a moment due to t…

    

And right in the middle of chasing the sun... our car started to putter and all the plans for our brief ride to freedom started change, all in the midst of a breath.  A breath we couldn't catch for a moment due to the car-explosion-movie montage dancing in our heads.   Following 3 rounds of The Chinese fire drill we gracefully pushed the car 5 miles up hill - both ways - in the snow to its (could be) final resting spot in a beautiful field of mustard flowers. Okay, maybe no snow, we do live at the beach :) ... but the car was dead.

 
We had to make a decision -  go a little Luis & Clarke, or go home - we had good intentions, but ended up with some cans of Corona, a Mexican blanket and a teddy bear. Despite our set backs, we were amped . We had found some inspiratio…

As the sunshine faded and our playful evening in field was nearing its end. It was time to call for backup. We needed a ride.

On the way back... our bellies filled with beer and hair full of mustard flowers, with our SnapChat game strong, and feeling incredibly grateful we headed for home. The place we originally wanted to flee.
